SIKESTON -- Cape Girardeau Central High's girls tennis team concluded the regular season with a dual-match record of 12-0 after rolling past host Sikeston 9-0 Monday.
The Lady Tigers will compete in Thursday's Class 4A, District 1 Tournament at Sikeston, scheduled to begin at 9:45 a.m.
"We've had a very good season and hopefully we can do well in districts," said Central coach Annette Slattery."
The district meet will also include Jackson, Sikeston, Poplar Bluff, Farmington, Oakville and Summit. The top two teams advance to sectional competition while the top two finishers in singles and doubles qualify for state.
"Jackson will be tough and you never know about Oakville and Summit," Slattery said.
Central's JV also romped Monday 13-0.

JACKSON -- Jackson concluded its home schedule Monday with a convincing win over Poplar Bluff.
Jackson, which dropped just one singles match, improved to 12-3 on the season.
Jackson's JV also won, concluding its season at 9-4-1.
The Lady Indians will visit Fredericktown today before competing in Thursday's Class 4A, District 1 Tournament at Sikeston.

Perryville 5, Affton 0
PERRYVILLE -- Perryville won its opening game Monday as host of the Class 3A, District 1 Tournament.
The fourth-seeded Lady Pirates (13-10) will take on top-seeded Lutheran South at 3 p.m. today. The other semifinal will be at 5 p.m., with the final set for 7 tonight.
Carrie Preston pitched a seven-hitter. She struck out two and walked one.
Lauren Tucker had two hits for Perryville while Sara Hadler drove in two runs.
"Lutheran South was third in the state last year so it's going to be a big challenge for us," said Perryville coach Lynn O'Neil.
Kelly 19, East Prairie 0
BENTON -- Top-seeded Kelly positioned itself for a 12th consecutive Class 2A, District 1 title Monday with a three-inning rout of fourth-seeded East Prairie.
Kelly, the district host, improved to 14-4 and moved into today's 4 p.m. championship game against the winner of Monday's Twin Rivers-East Carter game.
Kim Riley picked up the win for Kelly, allowing two hits.
Riley also had two of the Lady Hawks' 13 hits and finished with three RBIs. Pam Essner clouted a home run among her two hits and collected two RBIs. Tiffany Glastetter also had two hits and three RBIs and Andee Heisserer had two hits and two RBIs.
Kelly scored eight runs in the first and added 11 in the second.
BOYS SOCCER
Jackson 3, Poplar Bluff 1
JACKSON -- Jackson picked up an impressive victory Monday by beating visiting Poplar Bluff.
The Indians (8-3-4) got goals from Chris Schuette, Nathan Windeknecht and Brandon Blattel while Windeknecht and Spencer Knowlan had assists.
Windeknecht has now scored 18 goals this season as he closes in on the school record of 22.
"We played well," said Jackson coach Bonnie Knowlan. "PB has a good team this year. I was proud of the guys for hanging in there."
The JV game ended in a 1-1 tie. Tyler Stearns scored for Jackson, with an assist by Matt Diebold.
On Saturday, Jackson traveled to St. Louis and tied a tough St. Mary's squad 1-1. Windeknecht scored, with Schuette assisting.
Jackson will host Notre Dame Thursday.
VOLLEYBALL
Perryville 13-15-15
Meadow Heights 15-8-9
PERRYVILLE -- Perryville notched one of its biggest wins of the season Monday night by knocking off a strong Meadow Heights squad.
"Our girls came together," said Perryville coach Tim Steffens. "It was probably our best team game of the year."
The Lady Pirates (11-8-3) got a huge match from Amy Verseman, who had 17 points, 14 assists and nine kills. Renee Kaempfe had 12 kills and five blocks, Shannon Dreyer had 13 assists and Laura Ernst added six kills.
Meadow Heights won the JV match 15-6, 15-12.
Perryville will host DeSoto tonight.
Valle 15-15
St. Vincent 12-7
PERRYVILLE -- St. Vincent fell to Ste. Genevieve Valle Monday night and dropped to 6-10-2.
Jessica Lakeman led the Squaws' offense with 10 kills. Debbie Welker had 18 assists while Rachel Schnurbusch and Janelle Schumer each had 10 digs.
St. Vincent's JV won 15-13, 17-15.
The Squaws will host Festus tonight.
JV FOOTBALL
Cape Central 28, Seckman 19
Central's raised its JV record to 5-0 with a home win Monday.
Aaron Wolfe scored two touchdowns while Donnie McClinton and Ross Conner both had one. McClinton and Conner ran in conversions.
McClinton rushed for 164 yards on 19 carries, Conner had 121 yards on nine carries and Wolfe added 56 yards on seven attempts.
Travis Turner was Central's leading tackler.
