ST. LOUIS -- The Cape Central girls dropped their opening swim meet of the spring season Tuesday with a 109-76 loss at Parkway Central.
"Even though we lost we had eight state-qualifying times and some of those times might get on our top team lists over the past eight years," said Central coach Dayna Powell. "To see how everyone preformed, I was very pleased for the first meet."
Freshman Mary Beth Owen posted two of those state-qualifying times individually (200 IM, 500 Freestyle) and was a member of two-state-qualifying relay teams (200 Medley, 400 Freestyle).
Juniors Grace Freeman (50 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke) and Jean Maguire (100 Butterfly, 100 Backstroke) were the other state-qualifiers.
