Sarah Hyslop scored a game-high 20 points as Cape Central posted a 53-42 home victory over Farmington in girls high school basketball action Monday night.

Alex Wieser added 11 points and Erica McDonald netted 10 as the Lady Tigers improved to 7-2 on the season.

Cape Central led throughout the game, leading 15-6 after one quarter and 27-16 at halftime. The Lady Tigers took a 41-26 lead into the fourth quarter.

Farmington won the JV contest 51-20.

NEW SALEM 49, TRINITY 18

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Sarah Green netted 21 points as New Salem routed Trinity.

Jennifer Meek added 12 points for New Salem.

New Salem held a comfortable 26-12 advantage at halftime.

TRINITY 59, NEW SALEM 43

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Trinity built a commanding 24-7 lead by the close of the first quarter and cruised to victory.

Trinity, led by Nathan Cherry's 22 points, led 38-9 at halftime.

Andrew Conway netted 12 points for New Salem and Joe DaVault had 10.
