Central (12-6) outscored Doniphan 17-9 in the third quarter to expand a 30-23 halftime lead.

Sarah Hyslop had a big game for the Lady Tigers with 28 points. Alex Wieser added 10 points.

Doniphan (13-4) got 16 points from Kristi Kennon and 14 from Brandi Cox.

NOTRE DAME 74, DEXTER 30

The Lady Bulldogs continued to roll as they built a 43-14 halftime lead.

Lisa Millham hit four 3-pointers and scored 20 points to lead Notre Dame (16-2), which got 18 points and 13 rebounds from Deana McCormick.

KELLY 70, CHARLESTON 66

BENTON, Mo. -- Kelly won a thrilling Scott-Mississippi Conference showdown with Charleston to take over first place in the league.

The Lady Hawks (15-2, 5-0), who outscored Charleston 24-20 in the fourth quarter to break a tie, got 27 points from Christy Kluesner and 13 from Kelly Essner.

The Lady Bluejays (12-3) were paced by Dreelle Mathis with 26 points and Missy Whitney with 16.

ORAN 55, CHAFFEE 49

ORAN, Mo. -- Maria Eftink poured in 29 points and Ashley Dirnberger added 19 to lead the Lady Eagles (8-4).

Jennifer Vandeven scored 23 points for the Lady Red Devils (3-11).

FESTUS 48, PERRYVILLE 34

FESTUS, Mo. -- Festus won a first-place showdown among undefeated teams in the Jefferson County Conference,

Perryville(12--8, 5-1) fell into a second-place tie with Windsor. Emily Amberger led the Lady Pirates with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

HERCULANEUM, Mo. -- St. Vincent survived a Jefferson County Conference overtime affair against Herculaneum.

The Squaws (7-10, 3-3) were led by Nicole Hadler with 16 points and Chelsea Brown with 15.

DELTA, Mo. -- Rebecca Below scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Sarah Cook and Rebecca Cook both added 21 points as Delta (11-5) romped.

SCOTT COUNTY 68, NMCC 68

MORLEY, Mo. -- Scott County Central evened its record with a victory over New Madrid County Central.

The Bravettes (6-6) got 13 points from Janet Penrod, 12 from Brittany Godwin and 11 from Jennifer Hoots.

Shanika McFarland scored 23 points for NMCC.

BOYS BASKETBALL

MVC TOURNAMENT

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Zalma notched its first victory of the season while host Chaffee also prevailed in pool play as the Mississippi Valley Conference Tournament got under way.

The Bulldogs stunned Oak Ridge 72-52 and the Red Devils defeated Leopold 47-36.

Chad Wiseman poured in 30 points for Zalma (1-14), which also got 17 points from Steven McCain and 10 from Andy Sitzes. Oak Ridge (6-11) was led by Clayton Ruesler with 17 points.

Zalma hit 26 of 42 free throws while Oak Ridge went to the line just 14 times and made six.

Chaffee (3-12) was led by Andrew Horrell with 17 points while Leopold (4-12) got 12 points from Scott VanGennip.

In JV action, Leopold beat Chaffee 43-30 and Zalma defeated Oak Ridge 49-38.

CLEARWATER 93, KELLY 56

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Clearwater romped in a game played at Three Rivers Community College.

Kelly (3-14) was paced by Barry Ziegler with 13 points, Tyler Schlosser with 11 and Lance Scheffer with 10.

Jarrett Bonard had 22 points as six Clearwater players reached double figures.

BOYS SWIMMING

NOTRE DAME WINS TRI-MEET

ST. LOUIS -- Notre Dame scored 122 points to beat Clayton (114) and Pattonville (88) in a triangular meet.

The Bulldogs (7-9) were led by Jordan Kuper, who won both the 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle while also swimming on the victorious 400 freestyle relay team.
