Top-seeded Farmington netted four goals in the first half and ended Cape Central's soccer season with a 6-0 victory Wednesday in the Class 3 District 1 semifinals in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Central, the fourth seed, finished its season at 6-18.
The Knights, who had posted a 4-0 win over the Tigers earlier in the year, took the lead in the 11th minute and added a goal just two minutes later.
"We never really recovered," Central coach Dan Martin said.
Farmington improved to 21-1-2 and advanced to today's championship game, where it will face second-seeded Poplar Bluff (14-10). The Mules defeated third-seeded Sikeston 3-2 in the other semifinal.
"Farmington only has one loss on the year," Martin said. "They're a very sound program and very well organized."
Martin said the Tigers were still in a building phase.
"It wasn't a bad year, and I'm proud of what we did," Martin said.
