ST. LOUIS -- The McDowell Capahas had a busy weekend, winning two out of three games during a trip to St. Louis. Saturday, the Capahas rolled past Rochester, Ill., 13-1 in eight innings but lost to the St. Louis Printers 11-8. McDowell then got some revenge against the Printers Sunday with a 19-1 romp in seven innings...

ST. LOUIS -- The McDowell Capahas had a busy weekend, winning two out of three games during a trip to St. Louis.

Saturday, the Capahas rolled past Rochester, Ill., 13-1 in eight innings but lost to the St. Louis Printers 11-8. McDowell then got some revenge against the Printers Sunday with a 19-1 romp in seven innings.

"We hit the ball well all weekend," said Capahas manager Jess Bolen, whose team is now 7-2. "We scored 40 runs in three games. Usually that'll win all three for you."

Against Rochester, Lanson Debrock pitched all eight innings for the win. He allowed six hits and three walks while striking out eight.

The Capahas had 15 hits, led by Shawn Pemberton with three to go along with three runs batted in. Darrick Smith, Darin Kinsolving, Jeff Bourbon, Ryan Murphy and Tom Bolen all had two hits. Murphy homered while Bolen had four RBIs.

During the loss to the Printers, the Capahas had 14 hits. Smith, Kinsolving, Bourbon, Bolen and Steve Kress all had two. Kinsolving and Cory Crosnoe both homered.

Brent Self, the first of four Capaha hurlers, took the loss. He allowed six runs (four earned) and seven hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Sunday, the Capahas banged out 17 hits in routing the Printers. Kress had four hits and three RBIs. Kinsolving, Self and Jim Wolsey all added two hits. Pemberton homered and had four RBIs while Murphy had three RBIs.

Richie Phillips pitched the first three innings for the win. He allowed four hits and one run. Danny Simpher hurled three scoreless frames and Jerry Wolsey finished up with a scoreless inning.
