By the time rain hit Williamson County, Ill., on Tuesday night, the Plaza Tire Capahas had made official their eighth straight win to open the season.

The Capahas (8-0) posted a 6-1 eight-inning victory against Williamson County. Rain came as the ninth inning started, ending the game.

Plaza Tire, which scored a run in the first and never trailed, broke the contest open with two runs in the eighth.

Chad Bogenpohl pitched five innings to get the win. He allowed three hits and struck out six. Matt Stroup pitched two innings, and Jason Chavez worked the eighth with two strikeouts.

Josh Eftink, Lance Seasor, Eric Horstman, Wade Walter and Seth Hudson led the offensive attack. Horstman scored the first run and drove in one; Seasor, Hudson and Eftink each had two hits; and Walter had two RBIs.

The Capahas (8-0) play Friday at St. Joseph, Mo.
