ST. LOUIS -- The McDowell Capahas belted four three-run home runs in the nightcap of a doubleheader Saturday to salvage a split with the St. Louis Printers.

The Capahas hit six homers overall in a 15-11 victory. McDowell dropped the opener in eight innings 10-9.

Robert Kern belted two of the three-run homers as he went 4-for-5 on the game. Mike Miller also had a three-run shot and two for game as he added three hits. Shawn Pemberton added the final three-run blast.

Darrick Smith had a home run among his three hits. Tom Breuer and Tom Bolen both added two hits.

Two of McDowell's three-run homers cam in the fourth inning when the Capahas moved ahead 12-6.

Joey Scholl pitched the first five innings and picked up the win. Lanson DeBrock hurled the final two innings for the save.

In the first game, Julio Vega belted two homers and went 4-for-5. Smith, Miller and Ryan Murphy both added two hits.

The Capahas, now 7-4 on the season, will return to St. Louis today for another doubleheader with the Printers. The first game is scheduled for a noon start.
