WATERLOO, Ill. -- Using a four-home run attack, Waterloo, Ill., dealt the Kohlfeld Capahas an eight-inning, 16-4 loss Wednesday night.
Kohlfeld saw its record even at 11-11 on the season.
David Michel suffered the loss. He gave up two home runs in a five-run Waterloo first inning.
With the help of a James Lewis homer, Kohlfeld closed to 5-4 after the top of the fifth inning. But Waterloo pulled away with one run in the fifth, two in the sixth, five in the seventh and three in the eighth. The game was ended via the 10-run rule.
Michel gave up six hits in six innings, walked three and struck out three. Aaron Rider relieved in the seventh and was touched for five hits and eight runs in 1 1-3 innings.
The Capahas mustered 11 hits, led by a 2 for 4 night by Brian Schaefer.
The game was originally scheduled for Friday night but was moved up.
