Matt Palmer recorded the win, allowing just two hits in five innings. He struck out eight batters. Ronnie Lewallen followed with three innings of relief and Todd Pennington struck out the side in the ninth.

McDowell returns to action today when Valmeyer, Ill., visits for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
