CAPAHAS DEFEAT FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS
The McDowell Capahas continued their hot play Friday night with a 13-5 victory over Fairview Heights at Capaha Field. Brian Beckman led McDowell (24-6) with a 4-for-6 night at the plate. Tom Bolen went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, including a two-run home run. Craig Rainge also added three hits and Cory Crosnoe and Darin Kinsolving both finished with two hits...

Matt Palmer recorded the win, allowing just two hits in five innings. He struck out eight batters. Ronnie Lewallen followed with three innings of relief and Todd Pennington struck out the side in the ninth.
McDowell returns to action today when Valmeyer, Ill., visits for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
