The Plaza Tire Capahas ended their home schedule with a pair of revenge wins.

Plaza Tire swept Saturday's doubleheader from the St. Louis Golden Spikes 8-3 and 3-2.

The Golden Spikes won the first two meetings between the teams in St. Louis. Plaza Tire improved to 19-10 with one regular-season game left.

"We played well," Plaza Tire manager Jess Bolen said. "We didn't have any errors in either game."

Bolen cited highlight-reel defensive gems by Denver Stuckey at shortstop and Daryl Graham at second base.

"Graham's might have been the play of the year," Bolen said.

The Capahas had 10 hits in the opener and seven in the nightcap. The Golden Spikes had five hits in each contest.

Josh Eftink and Matt Wagner both had two hits in the opener. Sean Bard had a two-run homer. Eftink and Kendal Deason added two RBIs.

Ryan Poole was the winning pitcher with a 2 1/3 innings of scoreless, one-hit relief. Josh Parham worked a perfect final inning.

In the nightcap, Corey Harness made his first appearance of the season for Plaza Tire and notched the victory with five innings of three-hit, one-run ball.

Parham earned a save by allowing two hits and one run over the final two innings.

Trailing 1-0, the Capahas went ahead for good with a three-run fourth inning. An RBI fielder's choice by John Amschler tied the contest and Bard's two-run single broke the deadlock.

Deason had two hits.
