Kenton Parmley had plenty of big games at Capaha Field as one of the top baseball players in Southeast Missouri State history.

Add another one to the list after Parmley's monster performance for the Plaza Tire Capahas on Saturday afternoon.

Parmley went 3 for 5 and drove in seven runs as the Capahas extended their long home winning streak with a 16-7 victory over the St. Louis Printers in a seven-inning matchup.

"It's probably the first time I've ever done that," said Parmley, who completed his Southeast eligibility in 2012 as the program's all-time hits leader. "I hit leadoff for a long time."

The Capahas improved to 23-3 by avenging last week's 10-1 loss to the Printers at the Valmeyer (Ill.) tournament.

The win also extended the Capahas' two-year home winning streak to 45 games. Plaza Tire's last loss at Capaha Field came June 11, 2011.

"It's so nice playing here. There's such a great atmosphere," Capahas assistant manager Tom Bolen said.

Parmley had gone 3 for 5 with two doubles during Friday's 14-5 win over the Charleston Riverdogs.

That was just a prelude for Saturday.

Parmley hit a two-RBI double as part of the Capahas' six-run second inning that gave them a 6-0 lead.

He had a two-RBI single as part of the Capahas' six-run fifth inning that snapped a 7-7 tie and sent them ahead for good.

Parmley then finished off the Printers with a three-run homer in the sixth inning to round out the day's scoring.

"He had a great day," Bolen said.

Parmley, who generally bats third, played about half of last summer with the Capahas before joining them full-time this year.

"It's nice to be back at Capaha Field," said Parmley, who played shortstop for Southeast and has played both that position and second base for Plaza Tire. "I'm used to this field and to this atmosphere. I was comfortable here for four years."

Parmley said the Capahas relish their long home winning streak.

"Nobody wants to ruin it. It's definitely something to be proud of," he said.

Kody Campbell, another former Southeast standout who completed his eligibility in 2012, went 3 for 5 with two doubles and two RBIs.

That came after Campbell went 3 for 3 with four RBIs during Friday's victory.

"We hit the ball well the last two days," said Parmley, whose three home runs this year lead the Capahas.

The Capahas banged out 16 hits Saturday after collecting 14 hits Friday.

Plaza Tire was coming off two of its weakest offensive performances of the season, scoring just one run combined during consecutive losses at last week's Valmeyer (Ill.) tournament.

"We struggled at Valmeyer, but we really broke out of it," Bolen said.

Getting two hits apiece for the Capahas on Saturday were Logan Bartels, Brandon Bennett, Adam Blum, Mark Hagedorn and Jordan Kimball. Bennett had two RBIs.

Steven Dooley, who has been dominant on the mound for the Capahas since joining the squad, had a rare shaky outing but notched the victory.

Dooley allowed just three hits in five innings but struggled with his control with four walks and three hit batters. He struck out five.

Dooley allowed seven runs, but only two were earned as the Capahas committed two errors.

"He was due for a game to come down to earth," Bolen said. "He's been so good."

Jason Flores finished with two hitless innings, striking out one and walking one.

"He's done a good job for us," Bolen said.

It looked like the Capahas would breeze when they led 6-0 early. But the Printers rallied for a 7-7 tie after 4 1/2 innings.

"They didn't have their whole team here, but they played tough," Bolen said.

The Capahas regained the lead for good with their second six-run inning in the fifth.

"We capitalized on some of their mistakes, and we just hit the ball really well today," Parmley said.

Plaza Tire returns to action today with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at the Springfield (Ill.) Pallys.
