Delta hit 11 3-pointers in a 70-67 boys basketball win over host Zalma on Friday, but none were bigger than Derek Helderman's three-quarter court heave at the buzzer to decide the game.

"I was dissappointed with our last-quarter effort," Zalma coach Dwyght Ford said. "We should have never let them back in the game, but give them credit for geting back in the game. That was a heck of a shot."

Brent Menz led Delta with 23 points, including six 3-pointers. Helderman hit four threes and scored 14. Joey Keys scored 13.

Chad Wiseman led Zalma (3-5) with 19 and Nick Hartmen had 15.

Scott City 71, Chaffee 42

Scott City improved to 3-0 in the Scott-Mississippi Conference with a victory at home over Chaffee.

Sophomore Mark Dannenmueller led Scott City (8-2) with 12 points. Darren Willey added 11 points and D.J. Walton had 10 points as 10 different Rams found the scoring column.

Zac Horman tallied a game-high 14 points for Chaffee while Sam Burnett finished with 10.

Scott City led 29-20 at halftime and outscored the Red Devils 24-11 in the third quarter for a 53-31 lead.

Advance 55, Bernie 34

Advance had no trouble picking up a win at home against Stoddard County Conference foe Bernie.

Jason Bahr was one of three Hornets in double figures with 18 points. Eric O'Hare and Jared Ritter each had 13 for Advance (7-4).

Bernie (6-7) had only four scorers and was led by Zack Dill with 16 and Chad Woolridge with 14.

Bell City 122, Richland 55

Bell City won on the road, hitting 15 3-pointers and scoring 74 points by halftime.

The Cubs (11-2) ended the first quarter with a 41-7 lead and had 104 points by the end of the third.

Domitrix Johnson led the Cubs with 29 points, Eric Henry and his brother, A.J Henry, each had 19. Kenyon Wright had 14 and Derek Pobst scored 12.

Leopold 70, Oak Ridge 56

Oak Ridge dropped its eighth game to Leopold at home.

Leopold, 3-7 after its second straight win, was led by Kevin Holzum with 26 and Josh Vandeven scored 15.

Alex Fadler hit five 3-pointers and led Oak Ridge (0-8) with 29.

ND, Kelly postponed

Notre Dame's boys basketball game against Kelly, which was scheduled for Friday, was rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 18 at Kelly.
