STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. -- Notre Dame's boys basketball team snapped a five-game losing streak with a 43-37 win over Ste. Genevieve on Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs' last win came over Delta in the opening round of the Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament. Since then Notre Dame (3-11) has been on the wrong side of several lopsided losses, including three straight losses of 20 or more points.
"We've got a long way to go, but hopefully this is a step in the right direction," Notre Dame coach Darrin Scott said.
Notre Dame jumped out to a double-digit lead in the second half at 24-11 and led 28-21 at halftime. The Dragons whittled away at Notre Dame's lead and briefly took the lead in the third quarter, which ended with the Bulldogs up 33-32.
Bryce Willen led Notre Dame with 11 points.
