Brookman caught his five-fish limit by split-shooting soft plastic baits in the creeks not far from the launch site. The fish were holding on wood cover in 6 to 8 feet of water near the channel dropoff.

Brad Noel of Jackson took second place and big bass honors. He caught his fish on a variety of baits in both the creeks and the main river.

Both anglers reported a tough bite.
