COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Missouri starting point guard Ricky Clemons will be sidelined indefinitely after breaking his hand in Saturday's loss to Colorado, Tigers coach Quin Snyder said Monday night.

Clemons, a junior averaging 16 points and a team-high 4.5 assists per game, fractured the second metacarpal in his left, non-shooting hand Saturday when he collided with Colorado guard Michel Morandais in the second half of Missouri's 89-68 loss at Colorado.

Clemons did not practice Monday.

Josh Kroenke will start for Clemons on Wednesday, when Missouri (16-7 overall, 7-5 Big 12) hosts No. 3 Oklahoma (19-4, 10-2).

Kroenke, who has been bothered by chronic knee problems, averages 3.7 points and 18 minutes a game.

The injury marks the latest setback this season for Clemons, who last week pleaded innocent to a Boone County felony alleging that he choked a woman and refused to let her leave his Columbia apartment last month.

Iowa player not punished

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Iowa's interim president said Monday the school will not punish guard Pierre Pierce, who sexually assaulted a student last year.

Pierce, of Westmont, Ill., pleaded guilty in November to assault causing injury and was not given jail time. He initially had been charged with third-degree sexual abuse but struck a deal with prosecutors.

President Willard "Sandy" Boyd said in a statement that he did not take action against Pierce because the victim did not want to participate.

"She has asked that any internal disciplinary action not involve her or disclose her identity," Boyd said.
