SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- A trip to California for Southeast Missouri State University's gymnastics team was well worth it as the Otahkians won a triangular meet Saturday night.

Southeast scored 189.050 to knock off California-Davis (188.650) and host California-Santa Barbara (184.775).

Freshman Ashley Godwin led the Otahkians by winning the all-around title (37.975) while also capturing the floor exercise (9.750) and tying for first in vaulting (9.650).

The other event winner for the Otahkians was Stephanie Furman, who tied for first on the balance beam (9.650).

Southeast's Michelle Walker was second all-around (37.450). Also placing second for the Otahkians were Furman (floor, 9.700) and Jessica Bagwill (bars, 9.700).

Walker picked up a pair of thirds (beam, 9.600; floor, 9.650) while Kathy Smith also garnered a third (vault, 9.600).

The Otahkians will return to action Sunday, facing Air Force, Centenary and Texas Women's in Denton, Texas.
