Southeast Missouri State University gymnastics coach Patty Stotzheim was recently selected to be a part of the NCAA Youth Education through Sports (YES) program at the NCAA Gymnastics Championships, to be held April 18-20 in Athens, Ga.
The YES program serves nearly 10,000 youths ages 10-18 who engage in sports skill, life skill and conditioning sessions at various NCAA championships. Collegiate coaches and student-athletes help serve as teachers for the sessions.
"I am really excited to be selected to participate," said Stotzheim. "I have applied before and to be selected is great.
"From what I have heard, you put in a really long day and work really hard but it is a great payoff in the end. I've always enjoyed working with the developmental age group."
