Lynne Obermiller, a senior co-captain at Notre Dame High School, became the first Notre Dame Lady Bulldog to be named all-state as a volleyball player.

Obermiller was recently named second-team all-state in Class 2A by the state's volleyball coaches' association.

Obermiller, a 5-foot-9 outside hitter, helped lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 21-9-5 record. Notre Dame was two points away from reaching the Final Four.

"She's a real good outside hitter," said Notre Dame coach Helen Payne. "And she's alsoa very good defensive player which is unusual because usually your big hitters aren't real good defensively. She also passed well and was a good all-around player."
