BRIEFLY: SOUTHEAST'S JOHNSON NAMED OVC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -- Roderick Johnson of Southeast Missouri has been named the Ohio Valley Conference player of the week.

Johnson, a 6-foot-6 senior forward, had 15 points in each game last week as Southeast Missouri fell 60-48 to Montana in the Coca-Cola Classic but bounced back to defeat Robert Morris 55-44.

He averaged 12.5 rebounds and hit 12-of-19 shots from the floor.

Ron McKnight, a junior guard for Middle Tennessee, is the league's newcomer of the week. McKnight came off the bench to score 21 points, grab two rebounds and make two steals as the Blue Raiders lost 78-77 to No. 16 Tennessee.

Morehead State's Justin Cornell, a freshman guard, was named OVC rookie of the week. He averaged 13 points, 5.5 rebounds, five assists and two steals in two games.
