The Southeast Missouri State University women's volleyball team has announced the signing of Amy Henken, a transfer from Indiana State University.

Henken, a junior, turned in a school-record 1,492 assists last season in 34 matches. She also had 175 kills, 294 digs, 58 blocks and 34 service aces.

Henken attended Breese Mater Dei High School with current Otahkian Krista Haukap and helped lead the school to the Illinois Class A state championship three times in her three years as a starting setter. The team compiled a 79-1 record.

Henken will be called on to replace two-time OVC Player of the Year Tuba Meto, who just completed her senior season.

"Amy will bring in experience as she has played at this level for the last two seasons and that gives her an advantage over either a freshman or junior college player," said Southeast coach Cindy Gannon. "She knows what it takes to win and I believe she will really help our program."

The Otahkians have five straight OVC championships.
