Southeast Missouri State University softball coach Lana Richmond has announced that outfielder Shelley Conroy of Vernon Regional Junior College in Vernon, Texas, has signed a national letter of intent to attend Southeast in the fall of 2000.

This season, Conroy, who is originally from Houston, is hitting .326 and has stolen 39 bases in 40 attempts.

"Shelley is a key recruit for our program," said Richmond. "She has the proven athletic ability to make an immediate impact to our outfield. She is also a top academic student."
