Seeking to reach NCAA qualifying standards, several track and field athletes from Southeast Missouri State University will compete in Saturday's Billy Hayes Invitational at Indiana University.
Four members of the Southeast women's team will compete, including Tammy Wenkel, who will seek to lower her personal season-best time of 2:08.29 in the 800-meters. She needs to run 2:07.50 to provisionally qualify for the NCAA finals.
Other Otahkians in action will be Janelle Quigley in the 1500, Yvonne Hente in the 200 and Heather Denihan in the long jump.
The Southeast men's team will be represented by pole vaulters Jim Fox and Chris Moore, Bryan Alfultis in the discus, Randy Johnson in the javelin and Glenn Haley in both hurdles.
Haley, a freshman, has already qualified for the USA Track and Field Junior National Championships June 26-27 in Edwardsville, Ill.
