Several Southeast Missouri State University track and field athletes fared extremely well during the Southern Mississippi Relays held Saturday.

Lutricia Purham provisionally qualified for the NCAA outdoor championships in the shot put with a throw of 50 feet 9 1/4 inches. She was second in the discus at 149-8.

Heather Keltner won the 400-meters in a new stadium record time of 54.16 seconds. She also ran on the 4x100 relay team that won in 46:25. Other relay members were Shauna Birge, Kim Stewart and Natalie Talley.

Placing second for the Otahkians were Janelle Quigley in the 3,000 (9:58.59) and Jennifer Phillips in the triple jump (37-6 3/4).

On the men's side, Jaret Willi won the pole vault (15-6 1/4) while Jim Fox was second (15-0). Also second were Garvin Ambrose in the high jump (6-6) and Eugene Staten in the long jump (23-2 3/4).

Southeast's teams will compete at the Alabama Relays this Saturday and Sunday.
