SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Southeast Missouri State University's softball team suffered a 2-1 loss to Utah State here Sunday during consolation play in the Capital Classic Tournament.

The Otahkians won two of seven games in the rugged 15-team tourney and are now 7-8 overall.

Renee Mueller (5-5) pitched a strong game for Southeast, allowing four hits and no earned runs in six innings. She struck out two and walked one.

Emmy Kisaka had two of the Otahkians' three hits. Jenny Doehring accounted for the other hit.

Southeast's Brooke Nett was selected to the 15-player all-tournament team.

The Otahkians will return to action this weekend during the Southern Illinois Tournament in Carbondale.
