Struggling to stay alive in the OVC race, the Southeast Missouri State University softball team will play six straight league games on the road beginning with today's 3 p.m. doubleheader at Tennessee-Martin.

The Otahkians, 12-17 overall and 4-3 in the OVC, will have a single game at Tennessee State Friday, a doubleheader at Middle Tennessee Saturday and a single game at Middle Tennessee Sunday.

Southeast, which has won five straight OVC championships, is in fifth place in the nine-team league. Middle Tennessee and Eastern Illinois are tied for first at 7-0.

"The conference race has a long way to go, but we need to get some momentum and we could do that with key road wins," said Southeast coach Lana Richmond.
