Southeast Missouri State University's baseball team, which opens the season today at Mississippi, has been picked to finish sixth in the Ohio Valley Conference in voting by the league's head coaches.

Middle Tennessee received five first-place votes and was tabbed for first while Austin Peay got the other four first-place votes and was picked second.

Rounding out the predicted order of finish were Tennessee Tech, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Southeast, Morehead State, Murray State and Tennessee-Martin.

The Indians open the 1998 season with a 3 p.m. game today in Oxford, Miss. The squads will also have single games Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
