Southeast Missouri State University will hold Scholar Athlete Week today through Thursday. The week will highlight and honor Southeast's student-athletes who have excelled academically and allow Southeast athletes to interact with area children.
The week begins today with a clinic from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at Washington Elementary School. Many members of the Southeast athletic staff along with coaches will hold clinics during physical education classes, eat lunch with the students at Washington and participate in other school activities.
Wednesday will be the annual Southeast Scholar Athlete Luncheon where about 100 Southeast student-athletes who have attained a 3.0 or higher grade-point average will be honored.
Southeast's athletic department will hold the Kid's Club Bunny Bash Thursday in conjunction with the school's softball game against Evansville that starts at 2 p.m. at Parker Field. There will be an Easter egg hunt for area children and free hot dogs at about 5 p.m.
