BRIEFLY: PINGEL SIGNS FREE-AGENT CONTRACT WITH BILLS

St. Vincent High School graduate Scott Pingel, the NCAA's all-time leading receiver, has signed a free-agent contract with the Buffalo Bills.

Pingel was a three-time Division III All-American at Westminster College in Fulton, Mo., and he was selected Division III Player of the Year in 1999. He holds several Division III records and his 436 receptions are the NCAA's all-division mark, breaking the previous record of 301, set by Jerry Rice.

Pingel had been playing with the Black Hills Machine of the Indoor Football League.
