BRIEFLY: PERRYVILLE RUNNERS QUALIFY FOR STATE MEET

PERRYVILLE -- Perryville High qualified its entire girls team and three boys for Saturday's Class 3A state meet in Jefferson City.

The Lady Pirates finished second in this past Saturday's district meet at Potosi while the Pirates were third to narrowly miss a state berth.

For Perryville's girls at the district, Jennifer Hadler was third, Andrea Weibrecht eighth, Kara Steffens 10th, Renee Schlichting 13th and Sarah Hadler 34th.

On the boys side, Ryan Hohenadel was fifth, Nathan Davis sixth and Jared Tanz 13th.

"I was tickled pink with the girls," said Perryville coach Dean Lewis. "They never finished higher than fifth in any meet we were at this year. They just kept working and working."
