Four Southeast Missouri State University softball players have been named to the GTE District VII Academic All-District team.
Southeast had more selections to the team than any other university in the district, which included Nebraska, Creighton, Northern Iowa, Southwest Missouri, Missouri and Wichita State.
Selected from Southeast were pitchers Debbie Schemlz and Christine Engelhardt, shortstop Jennifer Oermann and outfielder Anne Wilson.
Schemlz, the Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year, has a 3.45 grade-point average in early childhood development. She went 19-6 with a 1.43 earned-run average this season.
Engelhardt, a first-team Academic All-American last year, has a 3.95 GPA in elementary education. She was 16-6 with a 2.57 ERA this season.
Oermann, the MVP of the OVC Tournament, has a 3.76 GPA in special education. She batted .410 this year.
Wilson has a 3.62 GPA in education.
