Four local runners were part of the field Sunday during the annual New York City Marathon that featured a record starting field of 31,400. A total of 30,332 runners finished the 26.2-mile race.

Cape Girardeau's Terry McDowell, Dr. Charles Pancoast and Bernadette Huston, along with Jackson's Mary Brown, all completed the race.

McDowell finished 523rd overall with a time of 2:56.29. Huston was 1,849th overall, and an impressive 86th among women, in 3:17.53.

Pancoast finished 2,367th overall in 3:22.50 while Brown placed 23,583rd overall, and 5,402nd among women, in 4:58.43.

The overall winning time was 2:08.12 while the top women's time was 2:28.43.
