BRIEFLY: KUNZ, LUKENS HONORED

Cape Girardeau Central High seniors Elizabeth Kunz and Laura Lukens have been named to the Missouri Academic All-State team.

Kunz, who averaged nine points and seven rebounds a game, is ranked No. 1 in her class with an 11.0 G.P.A. on an 11-point scale.

Lukens, who averaged 12 points and seven rebounds, has a 10.5 G.P.A. and is ranked No. 14 in her class.

Kunz has played two years of varsity and started her senior year. Lukens was a member of the varsity three years, the past two as a starter.

"Not only were they starters, but they were heavy contributors and had outstanding careers at Cape Central," said Central coach Paula Watkins.
