JACKSON -- The Jackson Junior American Legion baseball team will host a six-team holiday tournament Friday through Sunday at the Jackson American Legion Field.
Also participating will be Perryville, Sikeston, De Soto, Sullivan and Florissant.
First-round games Friday will pit Jackson against Perryville at 4 p.m. and Sikeston against De Soto at 6:30.
Saturday, Florissant plays the winner of Jackson-Perryville at 9 a.m. and Sullivan faces the winner of Sikeston-De Soto at 11:30 a.m. There will also be three more games Saturday, including the winner's bracket final at 7 p.m.
There will be at least three games Sunday, at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. with the championship. If no team finishes undefeated, another title game would be held at 7.
"We're looking for a good tournament," said Jackson coach Gerald Adams.
Other area Jr. Legion teams will also begin their seasons this weekend. Cape Girardeau Wood & Huston Bank hosts Poplar Bluff in a 2 p.m. doubleheader Saturday at Capaha Field while Chaffee hosts Hannibal in a 1 p.m. doubleheader Sunday.
