JACKSON -- John Litzelfelner of Jackson and Laura Wibbenmeyer of Sikeston won their respective divisions in the recent local Independent Insurance Agents Junior Classic qualifying tournament held at Bent Creek Golf Course. Litzelfelner, a 1997 graduate of Jackson High who will join the golf team at Southeast this year, won the boys division by three strokes with a 5-over par 77. JACKSON -- John Litzelfelner of Jackson and Laura Wibbenmeyer of Sikeston won their respective divisions in the recent local Independent Insurance Agents Junior Classic qualifying tournament held at Bent Creek Golf Course.

Litzelfelner, a 1997 graduate of Jackson High who will join the golf team at Southeast this year, won the boys division by three strokes with a 5-over par 77. John Sutton took second place with an 80. Wibbenmeyer won the girls division with an 18-hole score of 104.

The top two qualifiers in each category advance to the state finals scheduled July 21-22 at the Country Club of Missouri in Columbia. Winners of the state finals advance to the national finals set for Aug. 7-12 in Pueblo, Col.

More than 400 Missouri youngsters entered 16 qualifying tournaments around the state.
