Two more former Southeast Missouri State University football standouts will try to make it in the Canadian Football League.
The Calgary Stampeders have signed linebacker Brian Burton and wide receiver Jon Riley, who will attempt to make the team when training camp begins Sunday.
Burton was Southeast's leading tackler last season while Riley was the Indians' leading pass receiver.
That pair joins another former Southeast star, running back Kelvin "Earthquake" Anderson, at Calgary. Anderson earned the CFL's top rookie award last season when he ranked third in league rushing with 1,015 yards and second in league touchdowns with 14.
"There are really high expectations for Anderson after his tremendous rookie season," said Calgary spokesman Ron Rooke. "He was one of the most exciting players in CFL football last season."
Two other ex-Southeast standouts who were on last season's Calgary roster, Dione Tyler and Frank Russell, will not return to the Stampeders this year.
