Cape Girardeau native Erin Vogt is off to a dazzling start with the University of Arizona's national powerhouse women's swimming team.
Vogt, a freshman who attended Central High School before spending her senior year at Marquette in St. Louis, qualified in four events for the NCAA Championships during the recent Texas Invitational.
Vogt swam automatic NCAA qualifying times in the 400 individual medley (4:14.52), the 200 individual medley (2:00.54), the 100 butterfly (53.98) and the 200 butterfly (1:58.93).
The NCAA Championships will be held in March.
