BRIEFLY: CAPE CENTRAL'S FOX TO COMPETE FOR SEMO TRACK TEAM

Former Cape Girardeau Central High track standout Jim Fox has transferred from the University of Tennessee to Southeast Missouri State University and will compete for the Indians this season.

Fox, a 1996 Central graduate, captured the Class 4A state pole vault championship as a senior. He earned a scholarship to Tennessee, where he was redshirted last season as a freshman. Fox will have four seasons of eligibility remaining.

"We're really happy to get Jim in our program," said Southeast coach Joey Haines. "He'll help us a lot."
