Cassie Gross hurled a three-hitter as the Cape Girardeau Central High School softball team posted a 4-1 home win over Ursuline Academy of St. Louis Saturday.
Gross walked two and fanned five as Central improved to 6-3.
"She threw well and again we played pretty decent defense," said Central coach Amy Blattel. "And our bats came alive today."
The Lady Tigers managed seven hits, two by Alex Wieser. Ashley Voerg and Megan McDonald each had runs batted in.
Central's JV won 8-7 behind the pitching of Laura Beard.
