With its two doubles teams already qualified for the state tournament, Cape Girardeau Central High's Lady Tigers will attempt to qualify its entire squad for state during today's sectional competition.

Central, which finished first in its district last week, will host the four-team sectional meet beginning at 10 a.m. Also competing will be three St. Louis-area teams: Rockwood Summit, Ladue and St. Joseph's Academy.

The sectional champion advances to the Class 4A state team tournament next Thursday in Springfield.

Central's doubles teams of Lisa Ahstrom-Summer Chaudhari and Lara Golike-Rachelle Thomas have already qualified for the 4A state individual competition set for next Friday and Saturday in Springfield.

Ahstrom and Chaudhari defeated their teammates Golike and Thomas in the doubles final at last week's district meet.

Although Jackson didn't qualify for the sectional team competition, the Lady Indians' Lena Steinberg earned a state individual berth by winning the district title.
