Southeast Missouri's softball team has added three players for the team of 2000 as pitcher Renee Mueller, shortstop Jenny Doehring and first baseman/designated hitter Delania Talili all signed letters of intent.
Mueller is currently a senior at Johnston City High School in Johnston City, Ill. She will pack some lofty credentials, including Southern Illinois Player of the Year, MVP of the Illinois State Softball Tournament, MVP of the Black Diamond Conference as well as second team all-state last year. She led Johnston City to a second-place finish at state last year and struck out 334 batters, 26 of which came in a single game, and compiled a 0.43 ERA.
Doehring, a senior at Nashville High School in Nashville, Ill., has a .452 batting average through three seasons and has hauled in numerous awards, including all-conference and all-area.
Talili currently attends Moorpark C.C. in Oxnard, Calif. A power hitter, Talili will have three years of eligibility remaining.
"Delania has the potential to rewrite the OVC record book in a number of different categories," said Southeast coach Lana Richmond. "She is a tremendous hitter who has the desire to play the game. She hit a 325-foot home run last year and her potential is unlimited."
