SIKESTON — The Scott County Central girls’ basketball team is riding high heading into the Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament this weekend after earning its fourth straight win.

The winning streak started with a victory over New Madrid County Central (0-14) in the Delta New Year's Invitational. The team followed that up with home wins over Charleston (1-10) and East Prairie (4-10), and a road victory over Oak Ridge (6-7).

Nikki Adams scored a game-high 20 to lead the Bravettes (7-8) to a 67-32 win over East Prairie on Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Maddy Carlisle added 13 while making a trio of 3-point shots.

Kierstin Banks (10), Camarie Perdue (9) and Ellie Britt (8) were the team’s other leading contributors.

Bella Sutton was the Lady Eagles leader with nine points.

Eighth-seeded East Prairie will face ninth-seeded Charleston in the play-in game of the Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament at 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20. The winner of that game will face top-seeded and state-ranked Delta (13-2) at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21.

Sixth-seeded Scott County Central will take on third-seeded Scott City (11-5) at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21.

Adams led the team again against Oak Ridge on Wednesday, Jan. 18. She finished with a game-high 25, while Perdue added 17 and Carlisle chipped in 11.
