The Scott County Central boys basketball team won the Class 1 District 1 title over Clarkton 88-77 on Thursday night at Gideon High School.
The Braves led 44-43 at halftime and used a 13-3 run in the middle of the third quarter to break the game open.
Sophomore Richard Brownlee was the spark in the third for the Braves. Brownlee scored 10 of his 13 points in the deciding third quarter, when the Braves went down in the paint for several easy baskets over the outmatched Reindeer.
D.D. Gillespie led Scott Central with 25 points. Caleb Johnson had 19 points, while Drew Thomas chipped in with 16.

The second-seeded Hornets scored 30 points in the final period to overcome a five-point deficit and bring home their first district title since 2000.
"It feels great," Advance second-year coach Joe Shoemaker said. "We've been here four years in a row, and its something we've talked abour all year. One game doesn't make or break a season, but it feels good to get over the top. We've prepared for it all year and the kids should enjoy it tonight."
The Hornets (22-7) will play Wednesday in a sectional game at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Daryl Wade led five Hornets players in double figures with 15 points. James Masters added 14, Alex Steil had 12 and Jeremy Limbaugh and Trenton Moses had 11 apiece.

Kelsey Kutz hit a free throw with 9 seconds left to provide the margin of victory in the district semifinal against previously unbeaten Viburnum.
The Squaws (11-15) rallied from as far down as 14 points to earn a spot in tonight's 6 p.m. final against top-seeded Metro.
Lacey Siegmund led St. Vincent, the No. 6 seed, with 11 points. Courtney Besand and Brooke Brown each scored six points.
Sophomore Jessica Welker, the team's leading scorer, added five points in her first game back from an injury.
