Bradshaw likely will miss one game, maybe more

Southeast Missouri State women's basketball coach Ty Margenthaler said Allyson Bradshaw is likely to miss Friday's home game against Missouri State but he's optimistic she won't be out long.

Bradshaw, a sophomore guard who is Southeast's leading scorer, did not play Sunday at Western Kentucky after suffering a left (non-shooting) shoulder injury during practice late last week.

Margenthaler said an X-ray taken Wednesday showed "a little something going on in there. They think it might be a little bit of a labrum tear but they're not sure."

Margenthaler said a more in-depth examination will be done Friday, after which Southeast should get a clearer picture of the extent of the injury.

"It looks like she'll probably be out Friday but we're hoping she won't miss too much time," Margenthaler said.

Bradshaw, a Notre Dame Regional High School graduate, is averaging 10.6 points per game and shooting 37 percent from 3-point range. She leads the Redhawks with 20 3-pointers.

Margenthaler did receive good news regarding injured senior forward Brittany Harriel, who has missed six straight games since suffering a broken finger.

Harriel, Southeast's second-leading scorer and rebounder with averages of 10.4 points and 6.2 boards, is on track to return for the Redhawks' Dec. 31 OVC opener at Belmont.

"She's coming along real well. We should for sure have her against Belmont," Margenthaler said.
