CINCINNATI -- Aaron Boone hit three homers off Brett Tomko, two of them during Cincinnati's nine-run first inning, and the Reds held on for a 12-10 victory Friday night over the San Diego Padres.
Boone hit a pair of two-run shots off Tomko (5-8) during the biggest first inning ever allowed by the Padres. He added a solo shot in the fourth, matching his career high with five RBIs.
With the crowd urging him on, Boone struck out in the sixth against Kevin Walker and had an infield single in the eighth off Jeremy Fikac, matching his career high with four hits.
The two early swings helped Boone keep up with his older brother, Bret, who hit two homers in an inning for Seattle on May 2.

MILWAUKEE -- Jose Macias drove in a career-high five runs, and Bartolo Colon won for the fifth time in six decisions with Montreal as the Expos beat the Milwaukee Brewers.
Vladimir Guerrero tied Ken Griffey Jr. as the second-youngest player to reach 200 homers when he hit his 30th of the season, a line-drive to left-center off Mike DeJean leading off the ninth.

DENVER -- Denny Neagle pitched three-hit ball over seven neat innings, and the Colorado Rockies beat the Chicago Cubs for their fourth straight win.
The game was the fastest of season at Coors Field, taking only 2 hours, 19 minutes. It was third shutout of the year at Colorado, all thrown by the Rockies.
Neagle (6-7) walked one and struck out a season-high eight. He outdueled rookie Carlos Zambrano (2-3), who also went seven innings, allowing four hits and one run.

CLEVELAND -- Kenny Rogers flirted with perfection again, retiring his first 21 hitters, and Rafael Palmeiro homered in the ninth inning to send Texas to victory over Cleveland.
Rogers (12-6), who threw one of baseball's 14 modern-era perfect games in 1994, had another one going through seven innings.
The left-hander retired 21 in a row before walking Jim Thome on a 3-2 count to lead off the eighth. Milton Bradley followed with a double to left.
Twins 5, Red Sox 4
BOSTON -- Doug Mientkiewicz and Corey Kosie drove in two runs each as Minnesota stopped a season-high four-game losing streak. Cristian Guzman went 3-for-4 and scored a run for the Twins.
Nomar Garciaparra went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBIs. Boston has lost three of its first four games on a six-game homestand.
With the score 4-all in the seventh, Koskie hit an RBI single off Frank Castillo (5-12).
White Sox 10, Mariners 2
CHICAGO -- Paul Konerko hit a three-run homer and Magglio Ordonez drove in three runs with a solo shot and a double.
Mark Buehrle (15-8) had a shutout bid until Jeff Cirillo's RBI double in the eighth and wound up allowed one run and six hits in 7 1-4 innings.
Blue Jays 5, Angels 4
TORONTO -- Rookie Orlando Hudson hit an RBI triple off the top of the right-field wall.
Chris Woodward had a two-run single, and Hudson's two-out triple off Ramon Ortiz (9-9) gave Toronto a 4-2 lead in the fourth.
Garret Anderson hit his club-record 43rd double for the Angels, who have lost three straight.
Tigers 3, Orioles 0
DETROIT -- Rookie Mike Maroth (4-4) allowed six hits in 8 1-3 innings. Juan Acevedo closed for his 21st save, completing the Tigers' sixth shutout of the season.-- From wire reports
