ST. LOUIS -- Mats Sundin scored 43 seconds into overtime Thursday night, giving the Toronto Maple Leafs a 4-3 victory over the St. Louis Blues.
Sundin scored a power-play goal on a 2-on-1 break with Alexander Mogilny seconds after Al MacInnis shot high on the other end. The Maple Leafs had a 4-on-3 advantage after Scott Young was penalized for holding the stick at the end of the third period.
Sundin got his team-leading 17th goal on the lone shot of the extra period, beating Brent Johnson from the left side. He has scored a goal in each of the last four games.
Doug Weight forced overtime with his first goal in almost a month as the Blues rallied from two goals down. St. Louis also got goals from MacInnis and Scott Young.
Mogilny also had two goals for the Eastern Conference-leading Maple Leafs, who are 5-1-0-1 in their last seven games. Mogilny, who got one of his goals on a power play, has three goals and seven assists in the last four games.
The Maple Leafs were 2-for-4 on the power play and are 9-for-17 the last four games.
The Blues, who entered the game in a 4-for-53 slump on the power play, scored two goals with the man advantage.
Weight scored unassisted off a giveaway by Toronto defenseman Anders Eriksson at 9:58 of the third. Weight, the Blues' big off-season acquisition with a five-year, $40 million contract, got his eighth goal of the season and first since Nov. 15.
The Blues had a 28-18 shots advantage, but the Maple Leafs scored on three of their first eight shots, taking a 3-1 lead early in the second period.
