ST. LOUIS -- Scott Mellanby and Scott Young each scored, and Al MacInnis had a goal and an assist to lead the St. Louis Blues to a 4-2 victory Thursday night over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Blue Jackets managed only 11 shots and are winless in six road games. Columbus fell to 4-14-2 on the road this season.
The Blues are 4-2 in their last six games and are 14-4-1 at home this season.
St. Louis held a 2-0 lead after the first period after outshooting the Blue Jackets 11-2.
Mellanby scored his fifth goal at 2:46 when he deflected a shot by MacInnis from just inside the blue line that beat goalie Ron Tugnutt.
Young made it 2-0 at 15:50, scoring from the top of the right circle after taking a pass from Mike Van Ryn. Four of Young's 13 goals have been scored against Columbus this season.
MacInnis scored on a power play 52 seconds into the third period on a slap shot from the right circle.
The Blue Jackets scored their first goal during a two-man advantage at 1:59 of the second period. Ray Whitney fired a shot that sailed over goalie Brent Johnson's left shoulder. The goal was the third power-play goal for the Blue Jackets in 22 attempts this season against the Blues.
Jamal Mayers made the score 4-1 at 5:54 of the third when he scored after taking a pass from Dallas Drake.
The Blue Jackets cut it to 4-2 on a goal by Grant Marshall at 10:13 of the third period.
