ST. LOUIS -- Al MacInnis and Dallas Drake scored and goalie Fred Brathwaite stopped 17 shots leading the St. Louis Blues to a 2-0 victory Saturday night over the Los Angeles Kings.
Brathwaite, who sat out Thursday night's 1-1 tie in Los Angeles, recorded his first shutout with the Blues.
His last shutout came March 21 when he was with the Calgary Flames. Brathwaite (5-5-3) had five shutouts with the Flames last season and now has 12 in his career. His biggest save came with 1:35 left when he stopped a five-foot shot by right wing Steve Heize.
The Blues are undefeated in their last six home games, outscoring their opponents 22-10 in that span.
St. Louis didn't give the Kings many scoring chances. Los Angeles had just one power-play opportunity, but it was nullified after a Kings penalty less than a minute in.
MacInnis scored his sixth goal of the season at 2:59 of the third period, giving St. Louis a 1-0 lead. Pavol Demitra won a faceoff and the puck went back to Sergeu Varkanov. MacInnis got the puck just inside the blue line and his slap shot beat Felix Potvin.
Mike Keane saved a goal at 9:00 when he swiped the loose puck out of the crease after Brathwaite had blocked a shot to the left of the goal by left winger Ken Belanger.
Dallas Drake scored his second goal of the season at 16:47, giving the Blues a 2-0 lead.
