ST. LOUIS -- Keith Tkachuk scored two goals as the St. Louis Blues made the most of a season-low 14 shots in a 3-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night.
The Blues got 27 saves from backup goalie Fred Brathwaite and won for the second time in six games. Although they didn't reach double figures in shots until about four minutes remained in the second period, they compensated with three goals in the first eight shots against Tommy Salo.
St. Louis totaled 60 shots in its previous two games, a loss to the Islanders on Tuesday and a victory at Washington on Jan. 30. The Blues' previous low this season was 15 in a 1-0 loss at Anaheim Jan. 28, just four games ago.
Tkachuk has 10 goals, seven assists and three game-winning goals in the last 12 games.
