SPRINGFIELD -- Southwest Missouri State collected a pair of baseball victories Saturday at the expense of Southeast Missouri.

After Southwest won the opener 10-5, the Bears used a three-hitter by Bryan Buschhorn in the nightcap for a 4-1 victory and sweep of the Indians.

Southeast fell to 3-9 on the season while Southwest improved to 5-8.

Southeast starter Dave Siboda (1-3) was touched for seven runs, five earned, in 2 2-3 innings of work in the opener.

Southeast saw a 1-0 lead evaporate with three Southwest runs in the third and four more in the third. The Bears led 7-2 after the third and added three runs in the sixth for a 10-2 lead. Southeast pushed across three runs in the eighth to account for the final score.

Southwest starter Ben Walker (1-0) allowed six hits in seven innings.

Siboda was followed to the mound by Talley Haines, who allowed three runs in three innings, and Lanson DeBrock, who pitched two scoreless frames.

LaMonte Collier went 3 for 3 for Southeast with two RBI while Steve Goodman added two hits.

Micah Holst hit a home run for Southwest while teammate Matt Cepicky went 3 for 4.

In the nightcap, Buschhorn (2-2) held Southeast scoreless until the seventh inning. Jeremy Johnson accounted for two of the hits off the Bear hurler.

David Michel (0-4) went the distance for Southeast, allowing six hits in six innings. He struck out six batters and walked one.

Southwest moved out to a 1-0 lead in the second and added three runs in the fourth.
